Thank you David Thompson, physical Medium and Christine Morgan, Circle leader for the two amazing seances I attended in Reno, NV on January 28 and 30, 2014. I have been replaying the experience over and over in my mind. Sitters were patted down and David scanned them with a hand held metal detector upon first entering the room. David was then searched, bound to his chair and gagged. The seances were in total darkness, so I felt my minimal eyesight would not be a drawback. Little did I know it would be an advantage!
I was accompanied by my friend Kay and we met up with Sonnie Choto who will write her own report. There were full and partial materializations, independent direct voice, trumpet phenomena and loved ones who conversed with three of the sitters.
Willliam, the main communicator, answered thoroughly many questions posed with both wisdom and insight. His voice was briefly heard even before David was entranced. I will limit my writing to my own perceptions and observations.
Because of my limited eyesight, my other senses are heightened. I noticed the difference in the sound being produced when spirit entities were being materialized (a rather loud gurgling sound) and when they were withdrawing (more of a sucking-in sound, also loud and toward the cabinet). It was reminiscent to me of ocean waves on a rocky shore: different sounding when the waves come in and crash on the rocks and when the water withdraws. It’s the closest analogy I can find. This sound was in the room, not just in the cabinet.
I heard William walk in his heavy boots to go answer questions around the room ( a converted garage with a brick floor). After answering each sitter, he asked if he could touch them and then placed his hand on their head. Before each of this placing of hands, I heard the gurgling sound come from the direction of the cabinet towards where William had been speaking. One time he placed his hands on the head of two people sitting next to each other in short succession. That time, only one gurgling sound occurred. I don’t know if my inference is correct, but it was as if he was materializing the hands in the moment and the materialization did not last long, so it was done again after each question, but did last long enough to allow placing his hands on two sitters within a couple of minutes.
William also answered something for me, then placed his hand on my head. The palm of his hand covered the top of my head and the fingers came down the sides. It was a very large hand and rested gently on my head. The hand was warm, but slightly cooler in the center of the palm. This surprised me.
The mechanics of William’s voice was also interesting. The voice came in bursts, like air issues from a bellow, as if waves of energy were involved. I had never experienced independent direct voice phenomena and was amazed at the loud volume of the voices of the members of the Silver Cloud Circle. In contrast, the voices of the three loved ones who came to communicate were very faint, though clearly audible. One of these communicators expressed his frustration with the newness of the process of speaking in this manner and not being able to fully express himself.
One of the Circle communicators, Mae, an Afro-American woman with a heavy Southern accent, spoke so loud it almost hurt my ears. I found the volume of the voices quite unlike what I had envisioned.
The most incredible occurrence was Lewis Armstrong coming to the Circle. Like many, I know his voice very well, it is unique, powerful and unmistakable. He sang along with the music of “Hello Dolly”. Music at the Jan. 28 seance was played at a medium-low volume. I was especially happy for this, as I had experienced very loud music at the very first seance I had attended with Kai Muegge in August. The recorded music came from my left and was operated by one of the sitters, so must have been on a low table or on a chair. Lewis Armstrong’s voice, at a MUCH higher volume than the underlying soundtrack, came from the right of where I was seated, where I knew the cabinet to be. The voice came from high up in the room. After singing, Lewis asked Christine for the harmonica and he played a tune on it.
In the second seance, Jan. 30, Lewis again sang “Hello Dolly”. The recorded music was somewhat louder than the time before, maybe to make up for the smaller number of sitters present. I had a hard time believing my own ears and my mind kept trying to find some other explanation for how this could be happening. I noticed then that the voice was slightly out of sink with the recorded music. When Lewis stopped singing, Christine asked if he wanted the harmonica and he replied “No, not yet, I want to sing another song” and he proceeded to sing “What a Wonderful World” with no accompanying music whatsoever. I had the impression that this song was taking more effort than the previous one and the voice was a bit more strained. Lewis again played a tune on the harmonica after singing.
The highlight of the night for me was yet to come. Tim, one of the Circle communicators, asked Christine for the ball and said he would illuminate it and bring it around the room for people to see. He stopped in front of each person, holding it still until the person saw it. There was much excitement. When he reached me, he kept asking “can you see it?” and so I answered “No Tim, I have very little eyesight and I just may not be able to see it”, not wanting him to waste further time with me. There was a moment of silence, then he asked me where my hand was. I said I was holding the hand of my friend. He said ” Wait a moment, Missis ” then I felt a hand on my arm at shoulder level and the hand moved gently down my arm squeezing it lightly as it went down to find mine. It then picked up my hand, holding it from the top, lifted it to my chest level while moving it out in front of me and then turned his own to pass under mine, so my hand was now resting on his. “Feel my hand gently, go ahead, feel it” he encouraged. The hand was of medium size, slender, warm and of a young person whose the knuckles were not at all prominent. It was an amazing experience and I felt the love that came along with it, compassion for my not seeing. The two people seated to my right said they saw the shape of the materialized arm against the light of the ball held by Tim and that Tim was holding the ball in his right hand. She draws hands, so was aware of the the position of the fingers seen cradling the ball. I was the only one given the experience of feeling the materialized form.
Later in the seance Tim told us that the hand had not been his, but that of his helper Stewart (he gave a last name as well, wish I had understood the last name….) who was there helping him. He said Stewart had died in his early twenties (21?) and had been a pickpocket “and a good one, if I may say so”. That addressed my feeling puzzled about the size of the hand, as Tim had given his age as 9 yrs. old and his hand would have been much smaller. Sonnie Choto told me she heard Christine say it was the first time the name of that particular entity had come up in their circles, explaining that there were many helping produce the phenomena and not all gave their names.
The friend that attended with me was one of the three people who received personal contact with loved ones. All three communicators identified themselves by name and one gentleman, after the seance, said his son had spoken in his own voice.
Outside the cabinet (a small curtained off area) and directly in front of it on the floor, was what seemed to me a sheet of plywood. When the first seance came to an end, I heard a very loud thud. David had been lifted out of the cabinet in his chair and the weight of him in the chair, coming down on the plywood, had made the sharp, heavy sound.
The second seance came to an end more abruptly. William told Christine that David was coming out of trance and to play the music they played at the end. Things seemed rushed. Then we heard noise in the room and David moaning, attempting to say something through the gag (It sounded to me like “hurry up”). When they put some light on, I saw David on the floor, people gathered around him trying to cut the ties without hurting him and loosening the gag. The armchair had been laid on the floor on its back. I did not get the impression this had been planned this way…. Both nights the swather he wore was found fitted on him backwards.
At the beginning of the second seance, William had announced that they wanted to try a new experiment that would take up more energy, so it was unlikely they would have enough to bring any loved one through “but we’ll see”. As it happened they did bring one young man to his father and it was quite moving. What experiment they were trying was not said, nor did I see evidence of it.
The last thing I would like to say is that I had my small Service Dog with me in a carrier close to my chair. She had been at a Kai Muegge seance in August, but her behavior at these seances was very different. She never really settled down and really wanted to come out of the carrier both nights. She is 5 yrs old and has been in all kinds of circumstances and I never saw this behavior in her before. William, at the very beginning of the first night, had suggested I put her on my lap, but since we had to hold hands, it did not seem practical. Tim, the first night, said he’d been peeking in her carrier and she was cute. The second night Tim said William instructed him to leave her alone. There was muchsss discussion about animals in general, all quite complimentary and too long for me to relate.
I was truly blown away by the happenings in that room. It will take me awhile to integrate this new experience that exemplifies where the word “phenomenal” comes from. I also truly enjoyed getting to know Sonnie Choto, our friendship brought about through PM4U.
